The world of the Xbox 360 Gamespot is amuck with rumors about a new price break in the Xbox 360 console. Microsoft has announced that they will be slashing the prices on the older 20GB Xbox 360. According the Xbox 360 Gamespot report that we read, the older model will now be priced at $299 as opposed to the previous price of $349. This is mostly due to that fact that PS3 has been outselling the 360 by double since the last quarter. In July Xbox 360 Gamespot learned that the PS3 outsold the Xbox roughly 400,000 to 200,000 units. Xbox 360 Gamespot has also learned that the new Xbox console will feature more chrome and will come with a standard 60GB hard drive. It will be priced at $349. Frugal game players will still be able to pick up the core model—which includes no hard drive, for $249—and the Xbox Elite for $449. In the future Xbox 360 Gamespot has learned that Microsoft will be slashing prices further once they decide upon a release date for the next console.
